So much for Keeping Updated! Fall 2026 update

We had two big milestones occur between Soda's championship finish and all the upcoming Texas shows in Belton and Houston, and they are: a) we sent one of the KT/Perkins puppies, Patrick, to Australia, and b) we had a big showing extravaganza in August between Waco, Houston Toy, and Lexington KY.

What we DIDN'T have in all those months was for KT to come into season again, but it looks like she is going to grace us with her hormones imminently, so December puppies it might be!

So first let's talk about the newest TMT/ETT in Oz.  Ch Texangals I'm Howdy-licious wended his way over sea and land to join the Hunterval Kennels in New South Wales. He has participated in a couple of shows already and picked up points toward his Australian championship. I love to see his graceful lines and that he's turned out to be a stately boy in a little package.

Next, the massive road trip to picking up ribbons and points. At the Waco show, Perkins took Best of Variety each day and a good selection of OH group placements, and meanwhile, the three girls - KT, Poppet, and Soda - took turns going OP. Houston Toy, Perkins again took BOV and got OH placements while Soda took BOS each time.

Out in Lexington,  it wasn't quite as lucrative as I'd hoped, but Perkins still picked up a number of Select Dogs toward his grand-silver that we're aiming for this year, and  was quite impressive in the Bred-by group, taking a placement each day he qualified, and ultimately going BBE Group 1.

As I'd said, we'll be entering a few clusters in Texas over the next couple of months, and meanwhile, we're just chilling as the summer heat finally breaks and everybody is enjoying their days rolling in the grass.

Texangals Are Expecting!

Bonnie in the Buttercups We're expecting puppies at the end of this month at Texangals in Central Texas. The dam is "Bonnie" (Ch Bluebonnet Dreaming Spires at Texangals), currently #13 TMT in the country, and the sire is "Bentley" (GCH CH Dream Maker's One Sweet Ride At Jhen TKN) who is #7 in breed and #1 in TMT Owner Handler. Bentley  Bonnie with her Boy in Junior Showmanship Bonnie is a 3/4 English bitch imported in 2016 who goes back to Amalek lines with Maggical/Rosewood TMT. Bentley also goes back to the English Reeberrich kennel via Velvet Firefly where his lines connect up with Bonnie's. For those of you who don't really care about lineage, the bottom line is that they're very well bred, they are bred with a number of international influences, and as far as temperament, get along well with other dogs, other types of dogs, and children. A number of dogs in Bonnie's line back in England are Pets as Therapy dogs, visit...

Apologies for Radio Silence - May 2023 update

I can't believe that I haven't posted on here since November 2022, and not been bragging from the rooftops that Katie is now the top bitch in the country! We took a big trip up to Pennsylvania in April where not only did Katie grab a Select Bitch, a Best of Variety, and an Owner-Handled Group 1, but she earned enough points to achieve the Silver level of her grand champion title. If you're not a show person yourself, you're probably sort of glazing over - blah blah blah blah. The short version, she's been doing really well in the show ring, and I'm super proud of her. Also at home are my foundation bitch, Bonnie, who is enjoying retirement; Larwood, the boy from England, who finished his championship and has had his first taster of the running event called FastCAT; and Hermia, who is one "major" away from her own championship. Larwood is also going to be a daddy soon, all being well. We bred him to Zoot (who lives with my mom) and are expecting puppies...

Guess the Dog's Name Challenge

It’s the big, big thing on Facebook right now, showing a photo of your dog with another beside it that relates to your dog’s name. I have been wary of joining in: these Facebook things are ways of data gathering, and I’m very suspicious of them. Also, you may be hard-pressed to work out most of mine! So for your viewing pleasure (or not), here is the dog name challenge for Texangals while I’m down to just the three girls.
